Avoid this Book
Don't waste your time and money. Very contrived "stream of consciousness" writing. Nimoy carries on a mental dialogue with the Star Trek character Mr. Spock. This might appeal to a series Star Trek fan who loves anything written about the original television series. The dialogues do not improve the book. Nimoy intends to show viewers that the character of Spock has become a part of him and though they may not always agree, he derives satisfaction from these imaginary conversations with the Vulcan science officer, who is also his alter ego. His previous book was titled I Am Not Spock. This title angered his many fans who saw him as ungrateful and believed he sullied the image of the character. One good point: Nimoy writes better than he sings. For kicks, you may ... Don't waste your time and money. Very contrived "stream of consciousness" writing. Leonard has amazing recall of events and present them while addressing the his personal reaction and thoughts in this stunning autobiography. True, he does avoid delving into his family life (for that, get DVD MindMeld) but his amazing story telling skills allows him to walk us through events of his career presenting them in a highly interesting and often amusing delivery. The many 'conversations' between himself and Spock are highly entertaining as well. He provides much personal insights into his legendary career, walking you through his life with remarkably detailed descriptions to place you right there alongside him as he relives them for us. I was completely engrossed and compelled to read this nonstop until completion. Without his his powerful voice, it becomes clear how much of ... Wonderful Man, Wonderful book
This is a book to tell us about the process Leonard Nimoy went through when he wrote "I am Not Spock". He knows that his is Spock and will forever and always be famous for being this beloved character in my heart as well as millions and millions around the planet. He is a very good speaker, he write just as well, he has done lots of stuff, actor, writer, director, photographer, Poet, Patron of the Arts, etc. Everything he does he does by putting his entire soul into his work. He is a perfectionist, he is a good man I will always admire him. He was nice enough to meet and greet his fans at conventions and sign something for them. He would speak to you and really see you, listen to you. He is the kind of Movie Star that is kind and knows his fans had given him the life he has now. So ... Todays celebrities are uppity and don't realize that without people to buy tickets, watch shows, movies, buy their books, go to their concerts or jigs they would be doing a job that gets their hands a lot dirtier and would be paid a lot less.

I Am Spock by Leonard Nimoy
I knew of Mr. Leonard Nimoy's I Am NOT Spock published in 1976 of which I had an orgianal copy then and recently purchased on EBAY again but I was unaware that Mr. Nimoy had written another autobigraphical book. I Am NOT Spock is an excellent book with the views of Mr. Nimoy toward his character Mr. Spock and the public, written when Star Trek was basically still FRESH and NEW as the classic original Star Trek completed it's three seasons back in 1969 and I Am NOT Spock was published in 1976. I AM Spock is also an excellent book published in 1995 after the final film of the collective ORIGINAL Star Trek cast in Star Trek 6 - The Undiscovered Country and therefore a complete autobiographical collection of Mr. Nimoy's life up until then which includes his Guest Appearances reprising Mr. ... Take my emotional and logical opinion as a human living on earth for many years who happened to be honored to appear in Star Trek 6 as a Vulcan with Mr. Nimoy, honored and blessed to have my photo with Mr. Spock in TV Guide several times and on the cover of USA today in the PROMO lobby card from The Undiscovered Country, I AM Spock is a MUST read!
