I bought the HyperScan after reading floods of reviews saying how awful it is as a console. I suppose having low expectations allowed room to only be impressed. Load times HyperScan is known for its long load times. I have only played X-Men so far, but they are not too bad! I watched a few YouTube videos apparently showing load time in real-time, maybe I got lucky but my load times are about half. Card reader Another common complaint is that the cards are impossible to scan in time. Yes, you do need the console close by for finishing moves but I have had no problems scanning. The controllers even have a slot on them to hold the finishing card for quick access when you need it. Graphics Are as bad as they say. Way behind the times for when it was released. Build quality Feels cheap. Very lightweight console and controllers. Feels like a cheaper Mattel toy (...which it is). Overall Its worth the very cheap price tag. Fun conversation piece as long as you are not expecting it to compete. The novelty of the cards has been great, a lot of fun for people who have never heard of it, which is almost everyone. Keep expectations low, it is cheap for a reason. I also recommend buying some cards cheap (I found ~400 cards on CL for $10), they add much-needed variety.Read full review
