The Husqvarna 350 is a good little saw for the money. It has the Expected Husky torque. (at least a little). Its a lightweight saw. I do treework for a living. And the amature men who cant seem to keep the chain out of the dirt, and (as is common) who may not have the appreciation for a more expensive model ground/brush saw, (such as a Husky 346xp),Until they become experienced and appreciative, Husky 350's are what they use. I have three in use and own about 6 and then my personal 346xp. A 350 Husky is a good little saw. Its small enough for residential use and yet entry level sufficient for commercial use, although it is NOT commercial. The 350 DOES however have 1 major engineering defect! The muffler bolts will not stay in place and do back out. When this happens, if not checked will ruin the saw! The exhaust will seep out between the cylinder and the backside of the muffler and will blow a hole downward right through the crank case. When you want to tighten them, and youll have to, you'll constantly be at the risk of stripping the threads. Ive considered heat resistant locktite, but am not sure of the sufficiency of its heat resistant properties. Ive considered small lock washers, but worry that the pressure necessary to gain the tightness needed will strip the threads. There may be an easy modification that will fix it, but I havent found it yet. If you buy, keep your EARS open for any louder than normal exhaust sounds. And visually check often. The Husky 350 is a professional quality chainsaw for the discriminating homeowner. Husqvarna ended production of the 350 in 2008, but is still available on Ebay and through dealers who still have inventory. Don't worry, you still get the 2 year company warranty. Just make sure you get a receipt with the serial number on it and then register on their website. The company ended production due to new global emission standards. The new x-torq models use less fuel, but have a much less power to weight ratio. The saw is relatively light at 10 lbs. dry and it's easy to start if you follow the directions and maintain it properly. For easier starting, it has a fuel primer bulb and decompression valve. It is well balanced and operates smoothly do to an air injected engine. The 350 is powerful and loud, so wear leather gloves, heavy duty pants, steel toed boots, and eye/ear protection. Simply, the 350 is best in class and you should buy one before they're all gone. Always follow all safety and maintenance issues in the manual. You should only use 93 octane gasoline because it has a high compression engine. Also use Husqvarna's 50:1 Pro oil mix, drain all fluids before you store the saw, and clean it thoroughly. This will assure the next time you use it, the saw will be just like new. If you feel uncomfortable, call an arborist.Read full review
I cut firewood ever year.Over the years i've owned just about all makes of chainsaws. This saw was recommended to me by a good friend who does small engine repair for a living and cut timber in early years. He said the 350 didn't have the priming bulb that would cause trouble, also it has adjustment for the chain oiler. With this advice I purchased one off ebay.I think its the best saw for cutting firewood i've ever owned. Some of the features i like is,starts good, cuts very fast and its light weight. One thing it won't set up upright it fall over to its side, its seems to be high centered on the bottom.Still I love to use this very much, its a keeper!
this is a moderate sized saw and is working well for cutting fire wood on a weekly basis. The 18 inch bar is perfect for the wood size that I need. It is an easy operating saw as well as lighter to handle. It does not have a prime bulb, but does not need it. The average home owner may get frustrated with it for it takes an extra pull or two to start it. I'm also impressed with how little fuel and bar oil it uses. I have had many other saws, but after I started using Husqvarna, that is all I use now with various sizes of saws for different tasks.
Great chainsaw, powerful light but the muffler will fall off. This is known problem with 350s There was a factory recall for this problem (you can go to your local Husqvarna dealer and ask) The two screws in front holding the muffler in place fell out on mine. Took it to the dealer and they repaired for free. They just installed helicoils and screw the muffler back on. They also told me that this was one shot deal, if it happens again I on my on. Next time I used the saw the screws fell out! Now whenever I use the thing I have allen wrench in my pocket and I have to tighten the screws every 10 minutes. Buy 450 and save yourself a lot of aggravation
