Might be okay on a large monitor but the small game screen on a laptop makes it VERY difficult to see the card being played. My wife uses a magnifying glass... There is NO way to enlarge the play screen from the game itself, just from the computer and then you lose part of the images.

Most of the games are fun, and enjoyable to play. There are a couple that freeze up in the middle of play. I don't know if it's my computer, or if it is the game. I have a new Asus computer, so it's probably the game. The booklet that comes with the package has rules and instructions for playing each game. Makes it pretty easy to learn a new card game.

I had an earlier version of this game which I enjoyed, but have lost the disk. I thought I'd try a newer version, but stayed with one a couple of years old as my PC is six years old or so and runs on Windows XP. Downloading the updates for it took over an hour, and then the game ran so painfully slowly; in stop-motion animation on this PC; that I gave up on it and loaded it on a newer, 4-year-old PC, on which I've played it for about a half hour. The room setting is very attractive, more so than the older version. The cards and table are laid out in a 3D perspective rather than flat as in the old game. However, the way your hand is laid out, with the cards growing larger as the cursor is over them, makes it difficult to play your hand. It looks like the card you're choosing is getting stuck under the table, and so far it has always taken two or three tries to catch and drag the card to the table top. The automation action is very slow, even set at top speed and with all character action turned off. This might be better on a newer PC. The older game ran much faster on both this PC and the even-older PC from which I write. I've only played a couple of the games, and this has at least one game that wasn't on the older version that I'd like to try. So, the good: Attractive due to the 3-D layout; at least one new game The bad: Animation is too slow on older PC, and it's difficult to find and play a card from the hand. I'd read a review on this or perhaps the even newer version that the person found the layout to be really bad for play. I ignored that, but have to agree now. A flat, 2-D table may not look as appealing, but the game play is better.Read full review
If you like card games, this cd has plenty of them. It's a bit limiting with some games, and the animation and voices slow things down (I think you can turn that off, but I haven't figured out how yet). Some games are played by different rules...i.e. played by Hoyle's rules which are not always the same as some tournament match rules. Cribbage, in particular is disappointing. Overall, though, there's plenty to keep you entertained, and the cd doesn't break the bank.
I had a problem installing the game but persevered . The games are there but the cards are so small I have trouble reading them. Not sure if I should uninstall and redo. I enjoy these games on my old laptop and the figures and cards are larger.
