This book was easy reading. A good apologetic book for the christian faith, helps answer some common questions about God (ex. If God is so good why does He allow bads things to happen? or is the Bible really true?).This was recommended in a homeschool book I have, as a book you should read for christian mind building so you can be better equipped to teach your children the christian faith. For believers it is a good reinforcement/reminder of things we believe but not may not be able to, or have never tried, to put into words. Helps prepare us to give an answer for our faith.
Macaulay's short comical paperback is aimed at the middleschool and highschool reader. It is designed to reveal and critique the mistaken assumptions and worldviews contained in cultural messages and catch phrases that could potentially undermine faith. This book prepares the student for his idiot professor's "Religion is like the tooth fairy" or the friend's "As long as you're sincere" or the television's "I don't think anyone will go to hell". It's best contribution is just making the student aware of worldview and grounding them in reality. Good, but a bit old (1982). Noebel's newest "Understanding the Times" covers postmodern "thought" better. Use Selfish Pig to open the eyes of your 13-year-old.
