I got this to go with the full aluminum gearbox, it looks great. I had to file a small area at the top to fit over a button head screw. It definitely does not work with the Extreme Heavy Duty driveshafts from the Rustler 4x4 without modification. I had to Dremel out a large area around the driveshaft for clearance. Not surprisingly, the cover filled up with dirt and debris when I drove it. I used some foil duct tape to seal up the opening, that's working well so far.

If you want to fit this to your Traxxas Rustler or other RC car, be aware it wont fit without modification. On my rustler, with the stock Velineon motor, the motor shaft would hit the rear of this gear cover. It's just not as tall as the stock plastic gear cover. You either need to cut down the motor shaft or add a spacer where the motor mounts to the transmission to it sits a little further back. Also, aside from the shaft issue, the Bolt holes only line up for the stock plastic transmission. On both my REM and FLM aluminium transmissions, this cover does not fit properly. I damaged the cover trying to modify it to fit so I junked and got my self a RPM cover instead.

Installed on a Traxxas Rustler 2wd that had a Hot Racing transmission housing pre installed. The motor shaft does make contact with the housing and you can either shim the motor to gain clearance, use a rounded punch and a soft backing surface to dent the contact area or grind some metal off the motor shaft. I ground metal off the shaft and then scotch brighted the end to a mirror polish so I could remove the motor gear if needed. No issues after this.

does not fit correctly on Traxxas Stampede or Bigfoot has to be modified motor shaft hits the cover also have to dremel out a notch for the half shaft to clear

says fits rustler that is why I bought it but it won't fit a rustler. the motor shaft of the rustler hits this cover so you won't be able to install it unless you cut the shaft. I don't want to cut the shaft though so I guess I wasted money on it.
