Hogue has been making top-quality, great aftermarket grips & other products for many years now. They allow a shooter to better interact with his/her firearm and shoot it better. These grips do the same with the contouring and finger grooving that Hogue is known for with their handgun grips, plus the added benefit of the thumbrest for those whose personal grip style would benefit from it; these might be bullseye target shooters who choose to shoot one-handed, or are required to by competition rules. Some other shooters might prefer a grip style with the thumb not curled tightly down behind the trigger guard. Add in a straightforward, easy to understand installation procedure, and these grips should reward a shooter with increased grip consistency and more consistent shooting. One might need to use some hand strength and stretch the grip a slight amount during installation, but if one takes one's time, it should install securely and as intended. Good shooting! My Mark II with the thin slabs of hard plastic grips, that came installed from the factory, left much to be desired in the comfort zone. I have large hands and quickly found out how uncomfortable an extended shooting session was with the hard, narrow, grips that came on my pistol (minus any hint of a thumbrest). My shooting buddy has the same pistol as mine, except he had purchased and installed the Hogue wraparound grip with a much needed thumb-rest. After running several clips, through his borrowed pistol, I was completely sold on the quality, comfort, and consistent accuracy that came with these bargain priced grips. I now have these grips on my pistol and have never looked back. I feel it's the best improvement, for the price, that can be added to such a fine pistol. ... KUDOS TO HOGUE ... The stock Ruger screws are too short and the needed slightly longer screws are not provided with the Hogue grips. The Hogue grips come with a translucent plastic insert that the instructions say should be inserted between the back of the left grip and frame to fill-in and shim the void in the grip that is provided for Mark 3 models that have the bolt hold-open feature. In order to get this plastic piece to fit flush in the back of the grip I had to do a fair amount of very precise and careful filing and sanding on it; which took at least 20 or more minutes. Lastly, for those with large hands like me, the bottom rear of the right grip needed to be rounded to eliminate the sharp corner that poked outward into the heel of my palm. Those with smaller hands may not experience this issue. The tactile feel of the rubber compound and texture utilized is good, and the profile, finger grooves, thumb rest and overall height and width of these grips is better for those with smaller than XXL hands (again like mine). However, recoil, finger, thumb and palm positioning is definitely better than flat slab OEM grips. I can't compare them with the available similar "custom" Ruger grips as I do not own or have access to a set. Bottom line, these grips do not hold quite the needed tolerances to readily utilize the OEM grip screws, the insert for Mark 1 & 2 models is ill-fitting and the bottom rear of the right grip is irritating; although all the foregoing can be relatively easily rectified. The question is for the not so unsubstantial price of these grips should one need to? Consequently, they represent a few demerit points to Hogue's usual reputation for quality.Read full review

These grips fit perfectly, BTW, they are advertised for a MK II and MK III but I put them on a MK I with no problem. The grips are much more comfortable than the original hard plastic. They look great on the gun also, looks like a whole different gun. This is my wife's gun and she really likes them.

Fit pistol frame perfectly... Slight "TACKY" feel which I personally like..Factory grip screws are on the short side.. I got mine to work, but longer ones should be used. I ordered some. target group went from 2.5 inches to under 2 inches at 25 yards just by adding these grips. I am sure these numbers will keep getting smaller as I just used to this pistol. Mag release and safety are a little hard to use since these grips are substantially thicker then factory plastic ones. upgrades are on order.
