Magic Tree House books are simply amazing! I introduced this small chapter book series (10 chapters per book) with my six years old son when he was five, hoping he would be able to sick with them, as they only have a few pictures per book. We have been slowly getting through this series along side 2 others (The Secret of Droon & Beast Quest) Every book of The Magic Tree House series is wonderful, although the books are better if read in order. And this series is also part of the AR (accelerated Reader program) that schools have. If you child is at that level of taking AR tests and about 2-4 grade these books are perfect!
My son is in the 2nd grade, and he loves this series of books. They are all about 68 pages long so the can easily be read in one sitting. They have a few challenging words in them which makes it fun for kids. It is best to ready the first book in the series first, just so you understand what is going on. They do refer back to the other stories quite often. A sure winner with your kids. Age reading level is 8-12 years. Enjoy!
I bought this book for my grandson who is a young reader. This is one of his first chapter books. All of Mary Pope Osborne's books portray great characters, values and adventure. I would recommend this author for young readers.
Osbourne does it again, the gang swooshes off to another land, and we are csptured by the storyline. Great facts about Hawaii within the story!
Completing my book set of Magic Tree House books by Mary Pope Osborne. Only one more to go. Thanks
