I discovered this book when I first started working with essential oils. It covers the basics of skin structure and what your skin skin needs to be healthy. It starts with the idea of beauty as health, the role of vitamins and minerals in our diet and how this impacts our skin. The authors shows a familiarity with natural products from loose herbs, fresh flowers, clays, carrier and essential. The recipes range from easy to more complex. I have found the "flower water" tonics, especially lavender based recipes to be the ones I use and give to others the most. As a librarian, I buy this book for every library's natural health and livings section and hardily recommend it to anyone seeking alternatives to chemical beauty products.
This book is excellent! The author explains everything you need to know....some of the ingredients I had never heard of before and she explains and tells you where you can find it and why you want it. There are so many wonderful recipes in this book....it's like Christmas and I don't know where to start!!
Easy to understand Great book to add to my library
