This probably is the finest book on personal health and longevity I've read. I'm 81 years old and very health conscious. Doctor Weil writes in an engaging manner, and the content is fast paced. The chapters are fairly short, say about 20 pages each, but each chapter is chock-full of useful information that is easily understood. The book is organized into two major sections of equal length. The first one-half covers the theory of wellness and aging, specifically why we age? The latter portion covers Dr. Weil's specific recommendation for longevity, including diet, supplements, exercise, rest and sleep, and the important role of our thoughts, emotions and attitudes. I highly recommend this book without reservation.

I bought this book for two reasons: I saw him on TV and I'm interested in the topic. The first half of the book explains why we age. What happens to our cells and how cell damage causes diseases as we age. This part of the book is interesting but at times it was way over my head for comprehension. However, I do understand the need to explain before you tell what to do about it. The second part of the book was very good and very useful. It describes what you can do now to stop the damage and how to live...healthy. From nutrion to supplements and exercise.
Abundant information on how you can cope with aging, what is happening in your body and how to live better. Dr. Weil answers many questions I have about aging and he explains in simplest ways. I highly recommend his book to those seeking answers on aging, how to take care of your body and health, what to eat, how much sleep you need, and whole perspective of aging and changes in your life.
