Pros: very low distortion levels. high current amplifiers produce cleaner power than non-high current receivers; The wattage is a useless measure of loudness and power so the 75 watts at 50 amps can compete with receivers with 100+ watts of power with NO problem. 7.1. Has logic7 proprietary decoding, which sounds unbelievable. looks awesome, and unique compared to other plain black receivers. the back panel separates the center and surround back channels from the front and surround channels which limits confusion. gotta love the blue glow and 2 tone front panel. Cons: large, heavy. overall its bulky, but it's worth it.
The HK AVR-630 is an excellent AV receiver, especially if you like to listen to music in addition to movies. Its got gobs of clean power, don't let the rating fool you. HK's "85W" rating is more than Yamaha's "110W". And for movies its got all the surround modes you could want + the excellent Logic 7 which I really love. Totally programmable inputs. And the unit just looks good. The only downside is the 630 has now become an older model. You won't find any HDMI inputs on this thing (although that's not a big loss since even many of the latest receivers don't have HDMI 1.3 which is what you'd really want an HDMI input for).
This is an awesome receiver that does just about everything you need out of a multi-room receiver. It has all the different sound systems you can think of, such as dolby digital. I rate this one as excellent and am very happy I got it.
Very nice receiver based on functionality, and no scratches, but the control panel door is broken and unable to stay closed. The receiver was listed to say no damage and everything working properly.
