I have been melting scrap metal gold and silver, brass and bronze for 6 Years now. I have learned that these furnace's - "actually any melting furnace purchased" You need to always warm up the furnace's step by step 200-f, 600-f, 1,000 -f first. Just don't turn it on, set it, and walk away! You have to remember that the chamber and element will heat much hotter the the thermocoupler prob and base center of the furnace. You truly need to let everything heat up together. Follow the instructions and the furnace will last. I have 10 of them, melting every week, and for 2 years, the only thing I have had to replace are the top lid pads and flange. And this is just normal wear. Cheep to replace and easy to install. KJC.

Arrived very well packed. Furnace works great. My issues is the latch does not hold the lid down- the latch is very loose and when you hook it it doesn't pull lid down. Also the edges in areas are very sharp. It could be a very nice furnace if the maker took the time to insure the couple issues that I am having just by having someone inspect the product before its sent off.
