I fell in love with the vampire Lestat about 10 years ago. I was introduced to Anne Rice's novels by my mother. She told me that I would like THE WITCHING HOUR by Anne Rice. She was right. I was hooked. But when I received my first copy of THE VAMPIRE LASTAT, I was so captured by this character I wanted him to be real. I read this one book several times til my poor paperback was in shreds. I've read all of the Vampire Chronicles, plus every other book Anne Rice wrote. But Lestat is my Hero. I began buying all the new releases as soon as they were available in Hard Back. Then I decided to collect every first edition Anne Rice novel I could afford. I have most of her books. I am only lacking a couple to complete my collection. Unfortunately THE VAMPIRE LASTAT has alluded my advances in the first additions. So I did purchase a new copy of my hero's life and plan to read it again and again. I will continue to search for my elusive Lestat (first edition) to keep as part of my collection. Maybe even autographed. But in the meantime my new Hardback copy is there for me to read and enjoy.Read full review
