Bought it mainly for bow hunting, but have been using it in the duck blind also. It works well and does everything it is supposed to. Excellent item for the money. Its a little funny when there is brush in the path, but that is to be expected. On the negative side I don't like the lens cover, it doesn't seem to want to stay in place.
I bought the XRT for the compactness and the affordable price. As a hunter I needed something with reliability and ruggedness and that is what the XRT Rangefinder provides. A very accurate easy to use piece of equipment and totally worth the investment. It makes a better hunter out of you and will get you pin point accuracy for the shot you need to harvest game.
Have not had a chance to test it out on checking distances with animals yet. But I have used it out in the yard and so for I have NO complaints. The unit is small so it does not take up a lot of room in your pack. At this point I would recommend this range finder.

Pretty accurate, light weight, easy to use. Cons- doesn't work well in low light and crosshairs/ yardage numbers could be more visible.
For the price I have no issues with this rangefinder. I wasn't expecting anything more than what I purchased. It does it's job and compared it to a buddies more expensive rangefinder and it was just as good at short to mid ranges. I use this to check distances for target practice and hunting.I'm happy with this product.
