I wanted a darth Vader costume that wasn't a $2,000 cosplay perfect one, but not a crappy Halloween store cheap one. This one is worth the money if you want to look authentic and not break the bank! Yes it's 700 bucks but use it 7 times and your now ahead of the crappy Halloween store costume! I bought the XL and I'm 6'4" 250lbs and the costume has room to move. Any tighter would look better but would not be compfy. Helmet is large and looks great. Cape is long and heavy. Just barely touches the ground, even at my height! The pleated onesie (literally) is heavy duty. My zipper seemed fine even though most complained. Inside is the exposed Cotten fabric and is itchy and gets seriously hot against your skin. Defiantly get a long sleeve undershirt, like a athletic Nike cooling shirt. It will help a lot! Gloves are super tight and I don't have large hands. The chest plate digs into my neck a bit, need to figure how to make that more compfy. But it's hard molded plastic and all pieces seem very nice. Once everything is on it looks great. Defiantly a 2 man job getting in and out of this thing. The sound breathing thing sounds terrible. Maybe mine is broken, I did the sound with my voice and it sounded better than the electric one. I may look into another one from a toy or something. All n all I'm very happy with the purchase. I feel I could were it even to a cosplay thing and it would still be acceptable. Because of my height it makes the costume that much better. I may even get some black boots with a 2" heel because it would definitely help with the cape and just make the costume that much more towering! I may do some mods to it but so far it seems very nice and I'm stoked. I found a guy on Etsy who makes the lightsaber hilt to scale and out of metal. Around 75 shipped from Europe. Gotta have a correct lightsaber hilt to match my nice costume. Read full review

Well the suit is a onesie and incredibly warm. This should be split into at least two pieces. Also suggestions to make it more comfortable are to make the back of the pleather path a stretch mesh instead to allow better movement, lessen the weight, and to increase airflow to the wearer. I actually split the costume into 3 pieces. The outfit is not made for a tall person or someone who wears a size 42 pants. Very Very Warm outfit and complex. The straps are over done and can almost be eliminated for the chest piece. I took the arms of the outfit and sewed them to the inner cloak. Made a vest out of the chest section with stretch mesh on the back. Attached the pants section after removing as much of the seat section as I could to cool the costume and make movement easier. this also gave me a place to put stuff like ID and a cell phone. Also getting to use the restroom would have been a rough event at best. So now you can get into this thing with just yourself. Much cooler as well. Many people I know who have this costume have done mods like this. I also installed a small fan in the helmet with a Vader looking control on the belt. Rewired the helmet. The helmet construction has lots of room and has some visibility issues but that is expected. The rest of the costume is just figuring out how to put it on by yourself if you can. Overall I like the costume just needed to make it bigger and more comfortable for me.Read full review

...anyone who buys this costume needs to have some patience, because it will need some modifications. It's also not 501st compliant, the legions require costumes to be hand made by the member for membership. I wouldn't recommend this for cosplay. Unless it's less than about 70 degrees with low humidity or you may get overheated. I live in South Carolina so I usually just wear it to local cons and a few cosplay events among friends. It's a great looking costume, but it's made out of a highly inflammable material so be very careful around heat. I bought mine at a warehouse sale, so keep this info in mind when considering this costume.

Costume is VERY high quality. Pieces fit together nicely and the material is theatrical grade. Aside from the price, if you want to wear the "Ultimate Villian" costume, then you have to be willing to spend a few dollars. Plan on be Darth Vader for a few years and a few times throughout the year. This is not a one time only Halloween costume. The costume is heavy and very warm to wear. I use Nike cool gear under mine so that I'm cool or at least have material between my skin and the faux leather body suit. After wearing, the suit is left open and air dried to prevent odor and stink. I'm not sure how you would wash it. Probably have to be dry cleaned. The only gripe I have is the instructions and diagrams. The front "fake" electronics are integrated into a harness that is part of the faux leather body suit. The diagrams given and the interior harness are complicated and it would help to have better diagrams to illustrate how to wear the upper harness. Plan on at least an hour to start dressing. It's a GREAT costume but it has many pieces and parts that have to be put on in a certain sequence if your dressing alone. With an assistant, it would go easier.
