I've only had this unit for a couple weeks, so I can only speak to its initial impression. It was very well packaged. It's lightweight, and as such feels flimsy. The front cover is not properly installed. Once turned on, it immediately started to put out cold air, and the exhaust vent began to heat up. I have this unit out in my garage, and the exhaust vent is going out of the little pet door that I put into the garage door. The temperature was noticeably cooler after just a few minutes run time. I have only run it for a few short chores out in my garage; but I think that it will keep my double garage at a comfortable temperature for a sustained period of time, in the hottest of days. It should be noted that my garage is insulated. If I am able; I will update this review at a latter date, after I've had a chance to give it a good workout. I should also note that when I replaced one of my central air conditioners that I did so with a Haier unit, and that it has been working without trouble for a couple of years now. That's why I wasn't afraid to give this little unit a try.Read full review

The title of my review just about says it all. I'm using the unit in a small bedroom, 9' x 11', and in dehumidify mode, it puts out too much heat. Additionally, you have to drain the water it collects into a pan that isn't provided. The Haier company wasn't helpful in figuring all this out! In AC mode, it works well, although you have to set it much lower than the temp you want. It doesn't take the humidity out of the air as it cools it, which doesn't make sense to me.

My product came quick. Ive had it for about two weeks now. I would recommend this product. My room use to be the same temperature as it was outside. It doesn't get your room cold right away, it does take time. However, it is perfect for my room, kinda small/medium size room. Easy installment. Quiet AC. You only hear the air blowing out. So far so good, I haven't had any trouble out of it. I may do another review if anything goes wrong or change.

Works as expected. We are using this to take the edge off our living room. I know 8000 BYU is too small for doing the whole house but if all you need is a room cooled down this works pretty well. It's small and has wheels, but if course you are limited by the fact that it is connected to your window by a hose. It's not quite as efficient as a dedicated window unit since there is some heat lost back into the room you are cooling via heat transfer from the duct tube, which gets pretty warm (see the image below from my thermal camera). This is the price you pay for a portable unit. Still it's not that much less efficient, and you could probably wrap the tubing in insulation. I like that the duct doesn't take up much space in the window. I taped mine in place instead of using screws and it seems to work just fine. Another bonus is I can keep the screen down behind the window to keep the bugs out (impossible with window units).Read full review

We purchased this unit to help cool down a screen porch with acrylic windows. We turn it on in the evening and it cools a 100 deg F 12X15 room down to 80 degrees quickly. This helps us get more utilization of our "outside" TV viewing area. Since we live in Florida, it has helped us better utilize our space.
