I love the style and color of this phone, very aesthetically appealing and easy to carry around, however there are some drawbacks. The first is that it was released in 2011, so as a result there are very little features to this early model of windows phone making it incomparable to models nowadays like Apple or Samsung. The second issue is that no matter what I've tried, I cannot add my Microsoft account, and as a result cannot access the app store: I even took this phone to the Microsoft store yet they where unable to help me solve this unfortunately common flaw for this phone. Please think twice before buying an old Windows phone such as this.

I like this kind of phone I used to use it for many years. I tried to buy more file storage and I chose this, but what I found is the package says 16gb also inside the phone says 8gn. How can this happened ? I felt the breed is unprofessional, scammer

First I'd like to mention that because I purchased an unlocked AT&T version of the HTC 8X, and because I'm not on AT&T, I was not able to enable WiFi-Hotspot/Mobile-Hotspot/Internet-Sharing/Tethering. Because of that, I returned it to the seller after using it for only 5 days. Be careful of this when buying any carrier-unlocked phone off ebay. To me, a phone must meet the following criteria: -tough enough that it will keep looking good without a case, must feel solid -has all the features -crazy good battery life The HTC 8X has all the features (as many as I need, anyway). I'm a Windows Phone fan. Skype works great on it. It's fast too. LTE is great. Battery life wasn't near as good as my HTC Radar, but then, the Radar has crazy good battery life. I read somewhere that the AT&T version can have not-as-good battery life. Hopefully someone someday puts together an unadulterated WP8 firmware for the north american 8X so people can flash the ROM (European version is available). Build quality seemed good; it felt fairly solid, if light. But I don't know about that matt finish soft-touch coating; seemed to me like it would look grubby and greasy after a while.Read full review
Maybe there are not as many apps as you can find on the iphone but the quality of apps you do get is way better. The maps and translate apps both allow you to save online data locally so you can use them without an internet connection, which is awesome. The audio and camera is way better than iphone 4. The screen is bigger, apps use the entire screen and don't leave silly status bars at the top/bottom like many iphone apps. The face buttons are touch screen buttons which don't break like the iphone button. The back is made of a hard rubber that does not break or scratch as easily as the glass and brushed aluminum of the iphone. The live tiles are great, I just wish you could change their color. You can change the color of every tile but you can't change color of each one individually, which is a downside. Overall, much better engineered than the iphone and windows phone is much better than iOS, in my opinion.Read full review
