This little photo printer was one of the best HP produced. It is a shame they no longer produce these printers. Most printers today are cheaply made and the inks are way too expensive. HP use to produce extremely high quality products before they joined the ranks of the high-profit cheap printers. I have had several HP Photosmart 475 printers and they have always worked extremely well. Additionally, I like the ability to print 5x7 pictures.

I take many pictures and this printer is a good choice. It allows you to save your pictures in the printer with its internal storage space to allow you to clear your camera memory for more Pictures. A battery is available and allows the printer to be used in places where power is not available. It charges when the power cord is connected to the printer. It will print 4x6 and 5x7 prints and allows cropping and other fixes before printing. The ink cartridge is a longer lasting one for printing and it will use an HP95 cartridge that is cheaper but only half the ink. Prints, with the paper that qualifies, have a long lasting non fade factor. The later printers of this brand are good, but I do not like the ink cartridges they use. My reason for buying this printer is that I have five of this kind that I have purchased for my family.Read full review
I am a professional photographer so when numerous events requested onsite printing it called for plenty of research into what printer, paper and ink combination was best. We already owned a HP 375 and it worked great but we had an event that would require a lot of onsite printing. When you operate your own business quality is top priority!! It doesn't take much to ruin your reputation. Many years ago we had photos taken by a company that used the "bad" Kodak paper (greatly improved since then as they had to) and our photos turned orange color. I was extremely concerned about providing a photograph to a customer and the color fading away or turning color. I put a lot of time into studying the right combination to insure we did not create a bad experience for our customers. That is when we bought the HP375. All my studies showed it to be the HP Photosmart utlizing, of course, the HP Vivera inks and the HP Professional Plus Photo Paper. Our addition of the HP475 was an excellent choice. The onboard storage of photos coupled with the ability to print the larger 5x7 photos gave us greater versatility. We were having to wait on our prints to utilize the card again. The ability to copy the images to the printer allows us to continue photographing while other images are still printing. The remote is also a great addition that the HP375 didn't offer. You can't go wrong with this printer. A great value for the money spent!!!Read full review
I have used this printer for over a year now and I have had no problems with print quality or functionality of printer. It makes excellent prints at 5X7 or 4X6 and can also perform basic picture edits (and can add boarders) on the printer without the aid of a computer. The only drawback is that the plastics are flimsy and you wouldn't want to rough house the unit. Take care of this printer and it will perform for you! Don't expect blazing print speeds, but I have used this printer at parties and weddings (as an alternative to using Polaroid instant film) with great results. Ink cartridges last through several shots. If you take many pictures with a dark background (night shots or dark rooms) your ink won't last as long as it would if there are lighter or varied colors in you shots. For the cost of these items on Ebay now you can't go wrong.Read full review
I have always been a real gadget freak, but not very technically inclined. I visited my friend in Canada, took alot of digital photos and promised to e-mail them to her. She asked me if she could print them off before I left. My own experiences of printing photos on my all-in-one printer have been dismal but I said OK. My friend pulled out this little machine and put my photo card into a slot, pushed a couple of buttons and out came the most amazing pictures I had ever seen. The quality was fantastic. I vowed that the first purchase I would make when I arrived home was a portable printer. I started shopping withing days of getting home. To my dismay, I learned that there are many sizes, makes, models and prices. Each time I stopped to look at a product there would be a sales person standing over my shoulder pressuring me to go for the high tech (high priced) top of the line photo printers. Many of these take five color cartridges, which was definately not what I was looking for. I became extremely frustrated and decided I didn't need a photo printer if it was going to be this much hassle. Only a few days later I was "surfing" E-Bay and, out of curiousity, searched for portable photo printers. I was really surprised by the large selection. I remembered the options my friend had told me her printer had and started reading the information on all of the portable, single cartridge photo printers. When I found one that described the options I was looking for I placed a relatively low bid, not really expecting to win. Surprise, surprise, I won the HP Photosmart 475 GoGo InkJet Printer. I was really excited but also a little nervous of what I would actually receive. When the printer arrived I couldn't wait to open it and get started. Within a half an hour I printed off my first picture and it was everything I had hoped for. I didn't have any problem understanding how to operate this printer and it didnt take a technical genius to set up. I even "one upped" my friend. My little printer makes three sizes of photos in beautiful clear color. There is just no comparison to the large printer I had been trying to print pictures from in the past. We had a visit from another old friend of ours and during his visit I was taking pictures with my camera to the point of annoying everyone in the house. Our friend was absolutely astonished when, on the last day of his visit, I connected my portable photo printer to the television, inserted my photo card in the printer and put on a slide show of all the pictures I had taken while he was with us, and just to show off a little more, I printed copies of all the pictures for him to take home with him. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier with my HP Portable Photo Printer. The whole experience, starting with the relaxed, no pressure search for the right printer for me, all the way through to putting on slide shows and giving great picture memmories to my friends and family.
