I have had an HP Pavilion g7 laptop for a few years. Over the past year, [2017] it's been on 24/7 for about 6 months. After a malware attack through a firefox update, it crashed the laptop. I was able to restore it but through the same attack it crashed a 2nd time. When I tried to restore it, it wouldn't work. Next I was locked out & zap, the motherboard went out. Although it's running great now, I no longer leave it running all the time, I let it go to sleep or I just shut it down. I guess it didn't help always running 75-100 open tabs while online.
