Ink cartridges very low need to be replaced soon. One was HP, other off-brand. Error msg on printer screen says "printer ink door open". If pressure put down on printer top the message goes off. Located where the switch is, and added some material (JB Weld 1/8 inch) to the switch activation rod which fixed the problem. This is something that should have been noticed when the unit was supposed to be checked out. Other than that it works ok.

This printer was purchased from a company called "Defectronics". This review would not be relevant to someone wanting to purchase this printer new. Actually, HP no longer manufactures or sells this particular printer. It arrived in worse shape than the description posted on Ebay and made horrible noises while trying to print. Apparently it had been mis-handled in shipping by UPS and had loose pieces rattling around inside along with obvious damage on the outside. It was, in fact well packed by the shipper. My original printer had problems with the scanner, so I cannibalized this particular printer for the top section. I replaced the top half of my original 7310 which has had problems with the scanner and feeder since day one with the top half of this broken printer and now everyting works fine. Like I said, this printer was purchased from Defectronics (pay attention to the name) "as is". No guarantees. It was, however, useful as a source of parts and now I have a fully functional machine. As far as the 7310 rates in my opinion, it's an OK machine. My biggest gripe is that it's hard to refill the cartridges, so my heavy printing is reserved for a machine that I can refill more easily. I'm sure you're all familiar with the high cost of ink vs the low cost of printers. This printer should fulfill the needs of an office needing all the functions this machine has but have a low demand for printed output. Cheers! KyangiRead full review
Love this product. Print quality is great. Prints a little slow, but worth the wait. Working on setting it up to print from all my computers. Once I get the wireless figured out I know I am going to love that quality to it. Don't print pictures much, but can see by the qulity of print that it would do a wonderful job.
This is the second 7310 I have purchased. The first on was NEW and this one was used off of E-bay. Both do a very good job and are very fast at printing. It does very well printing pictures, too. The fax works extremely well and I have found a site where I can purchas ink for this at almost 70% off of HP's price....which also works well in these printers. so, the printing costs are very reasonable. (Original HP ink is fairly expensive so I would not buy the original HP ink. I liked the first one of these so much that I bought a second one , now we have one in each of our offices . Great. The only thing that would make this better would be if it were Wi-Fi cordless capable, but I think this was built before they started including this feature on very many printers. In any case. it is very durable and we have had NO problems. We have had the first one of these for over 3 years.Read full review
