30 years ago this was the state of the art generator. It's had very low sideband and phase noise, but even when new needed regular tweaking to keep it to it's very tight spec. It has sweep function built in, along with a marker generator. This makes it a beauty to use for FM alignment. The weight is ridiculous, some 90 lbs makes it totally non portable. If you buy one today, don't expect it to be totally reliable. It is a very complex unit and parts are difficult and expensive to find and buy. My example spends most of its life with the top off, and me scratching my head! But when it's working it's a delight to use. If you are in the market for a good sig gen, look at a lesser model. If you like a challenge and the down time won't cause a problem, buy one.
