The two 6TB's I bought were dated March 2015 and sealed in bag/never used. They were owned by a company in California based on the labels on the bag. HGST is all I've bought for external storage drives the past 3+ years now... 2TB, 3TB, and now 6TB drives. They all work great. Never had a failure. I keep a few of my older ones as backups just in case any of the newer ones might fail, but they are solid drives.
