Have installed many antennas. Installed this one many times. Will probably install again. PROS: Rotation aids reception. Quite good reception for the price. Although flimsy, it still stands up well in bad weather. At less than $30 there's not much to lose if you don't like it. CONS: 1) cannot use any splitters (assumes 2 TV's) with installation; no signal. 2nd TV must be installed from booster box only. 2) 1 inch dia. antenna mast will not fit mounting hole - mounting hole in antenna base must be metric and slightly less than 1 inch. 3) red light on signal booster is too bright; black electricians tape to reduce glow. 4) Remote for antenna rotation must be pointed directly at booster box. 4) Coax cable works, but is the cheapest ever made (I install antennas and have all the tools and parts).Read full review

This product seems to be very cheaply constructed. Thin plastic parts that are somewhat difficult to assemble. Must take care not to break or bend any of the parts when putting together, or handling the assembled antenna. In it's defense... what do you expect for $15 USD. The coax used is wired directly into the antenna, and has a different size connector than regular coax of this type. So, it can't be lengthened with standard coax and connectors if needed to reach the control/amplifier box. However, the coax comming out of the box to the TV is of standard size connector. So, it can be lengthened. The remote is of the IR type, so it needs direct line of sight with the front of the control box to rotate the antenna. It claims a 15ft range on the remote, but I've not been able to get it to work over more that about 8ft. The mounting device on the bottom seems very loose, and it moves around quite a bit in much over a light breeze. The U bolt that is needed to attach it to a mast or pole wasn't included in the box. So another expense to get it up in the air. This is the second HDTV I've had, and this one has much poorer reception than the first one. Indeed.. I'm located about 70 miles from a major city. So to get anything is an accomplishment. This antenna recieves about half the channels of my first one. So the 150 mile claim this unit makes is a bit of a stretch from where I'm located. I'm sure if your located in a very flat area of land with very few obstacles between you and the transmitter. The chances of 150 mile reception would be much better. I would have returned it. But was concerned that I would destroy it trying to get it disassembled to be boxed up for shipping. Not to mention throwing good money after bad for the shipping costs to return it.Read full review

If you remember that you get what you pay for them it's a good antenna. The instructions are worthless, even with a magnifying glass you will be hard pressed to read them. A hint that would have saved me some time is that the large loop sections nest on the long ends would have been good to know beforehand. You will also need a knife to clean out the plastic frame before you slide the arms in. The last thing you need is a good 110 plug from a home store to replace the one on the box. The one that is on it won't stay in the outlet and is a safety hazard in my opinion. It picks up most channels in my area but not all. I'm combining it with a second antenna that I had to cover all the local stations at once and it will be good for that but as a stand alone antenna it would be good if you are within 50 miles of the transmitter.Read full review

I was able to properly assemble the antenna using the provided instructions but they were a tad confusing. I was short one of the small red caps but no harm. Once assembled and connected to power, the rotor worked just fine and I was able to get a strong signal as expected. The installation process was a bit wonky tho. There were no u-bolts included to mount to a pole. Also, the long cable that plugs in to the rotor/power supply is one long piece, no connectors. In my situation, that is impractical since I need the rotor/power box to plug in to existing wiring coming from the garage. I'll need to splice in some F connectors to get around that issue. Otherwise, a good value but you'll need to be able to solder in connectors to install it most likely. I don't expect the plastic parts would last long out in the weather so I'm electing to install it in my garage attic.Read full review

The instructions for assembly are terrible. The pictures are tiny and it is difficult to see where some parts go like screws and plastic connectors. I think a page magnifier would help. Some of the tubes have holes where the screws go. This is not mentioned and needs to be noticed by the assembler. Since I put one together, I could put another one together pretty quickly. Most of the aluminum parts are not actually connected to the amplifier. They must be some kind of wave guides or passive repeaters. I think this antenna has worked better than any other cheap antenna I have tried. It is a bit larger than I expected, but that is not a problem. I agree that it would not live very long mounted outside. It would not take much wind to blow this into pieces. I have this sitting on a shelf in a closet so I am not using the rotor motor at all, so I can not comment on that.Read full review
