I really liked and enjoyed this book. One reason was because of the short satire comic written and drawn by George Kucher, that was put in the front of the book on Lovecraft's life. It showed as much as they wanted faithfull cartoon/graphic representations of lovercraft's stories, they were also willing to supply some satire about Lovercraft as well. I especially enjoyed the Tod Schoor's drawing of Lovecraft's Fried Seafood Cart in Innsmouth. What better image, than to see Lovercraft selling fresh fried cthulhu er I mean squid from a cart. As much as Lovecraft viewed himself as a proper gentelman, he never in real life would have taken such a job. I enjoy Lovecraft's stories, and studies about him today are considered very serrious busniess. However, if he were alive today I think he would enjoy the cover picture of himself as satire, especially the idea that he is cthulhu's puppet, when it was he himself had created the Great Cthulhu. Over all I think he would be honored if he were alive today, that so many people now enjoy his stories in book or in comic book form. As it is I feel Graphic Classics has done a great servie, and has honored Lovecraft's memory with such a fine publication. The original edition is spececial enough in that the cover and some of the cartoons did not appear in the 2nd edition. I feel for the most part the comic representations of his stories in this are done well, and does great honor to the man from Providence.Read full review
