I liked the male characters quite a bit. The female characters I found less believable, but still ok. It did remind me a bit of Dutch Leonard's novels, but with a less complex plot and with a slower pace. I bought the book (an "ARC", sorry Lou) for two reasons: 1) the author and I share a fairly uncommon last name and 2) reviewers' comparisons with my favorite writer, Elmore Leonard. All in all it was worth my time and I expect that later offerings from Lou Berney will be even more so.
