The Gun Digest Book of Exploded Gun Drawings provides isometric views of a wide array of popular firearms. It is not a manual of gunsmithing practice, but a valuable reference for the professional or serious hobbyist that allows you to see the relationship of working parts. A picture is truly worth a thousand words when a previously disassembled gun is resting on your bench in a box! With 975 different firearms represented the odds of your model being represented is good. My hat if off to the author, Harold A. Murtz, for assembling such a wide ranging reference. Anyone who handles a variety of firearms will be pleased with this volume.
the book is much thicker than the photos indicated. It will at least provide the correct name for a needed part. the extra material in the index with maker address is also a plus. one might consider breaking the book into separate books for pistol shotgun and rifle. Thus each book would be of a more suitable size to accomodate additional drawings in each catagory.
I was somewhat apprehensive about purchasing this book. I was concerned that it would have copies of diagrams from older books; it didn't. All of the diagrams appear crisp and clean. I collect older firearms, rifles and handguns, and was able to find all of my weapons listed in this book. Very nicely done and worth the money o have all of these diagrams in one book.
My gun lover Loved this book. Haven't stopped reading it. Lots of information detailed and interesting for newbies and old gun enthusiasts.
