Great MMORPG with solid graphics(some environments are just mind-blowing,others average). Some of the best features:once you visit a town, you can port back there anytime instantly(NO travel time),life-like graphics, and you can hire CPU controlled henchman for your quest party if you can't find suitable human players for your needs,or if you just want to play solo.CPU player AI is also surprisingly good in most instances.Bad features:No mounts, you're always on foot,no PVP option during quests, special PVP only sections of game are separate, and although there are some great classes to choose from, they're ALL human,no other races. So,take the good with the bad and you decide, but NO monthly fees to play.Free is fun.
As with all Guild Wars games and their add-ons, they :cannot: be resold. A "used or like new" cd game is useless, an internet connection is required to play and the operating client can be downloaded from Guildwars.com, so you don't need the physical CD. NOTE TO 2nd HAND BUYERS and SELLERS: if the game key has already been used, you cannot "sell" or "reuse" the game by another customer like other video games. Reselling the DVD to a customer without its virgin key code = is in fact useless plastic trash. Each player must have a unique account. If the original game key is USED, then it is linked to the email, password, characters & personal information of the first person who used it. If you buy a (used) key, you're screwed. again, the CD is useless and not physically needed, it is the individual coded key(s) you need to open an account/to play Guild Wars.Read full review
This is the best RPG game i have ever played. I bought guild wars approx 4 years ago. This has been the only game i have bought add ons for and the only game that has kept my interest for a long period of time( 4 years ). The story line is great and easy to follow. The characters are a great range and the locations are beautifully designed. There is something new in every area and depending on your character the outcome can vary with missions and quests.I thoroughly recommend this to any RPG online gamer. Will not disappoint. 5 star entertainment
This is truly a great game for young and old alike . If you like mid evil times or just a great scenery type game with miles and miles of endless bounders. Then this is the game for you. From interesting worlds and creatures. To battling all kinds of stuff and trading for weapons up grades. And unlike other solo/multi player games Guild Wars has no monthly fee's . Just buy the game and that's it. Play online as long as you like for ever free. Guild Wars has even better reviews and has won more awards then...World of War Craft and War Hammer. Even my wife or mom will watch me play this sometimes and they hate video games. But, They say this one is really interesting and they love to see the scenery and the animals, Waterfalls, Miles of fall tree's with all there colors and wife likes the flowers. So anyway this is a game for all. Good stuff. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.Read full review
Guild Wars has been running for over 4 years now, starting with its first title: Prophesies. Two subsequent titles, Factions and Nightfall, take place on different continents in the game world and can be purchased and played separately or combined into one account so that all of your characters can roam freely between the 3 different continents. If you are more into PvP action, there are many options to chose from, including guild battles, random arenas, and the new codex arena. (The Factions title is heavily recommended for those interested in PvP). The Eye of the North is a massive extension of the map in Prophesies, pulling the player back into the lives of the people they met in Ascalon to face new and challenging foes. It is meant for players who have already completed the game and are ready to face greater challenges. Nearly all enemies in these maps are above level 20 (which is your maximum level in this game). You also gain four NPCs as heroes as your progress, meaning you can equip and control their skills for leading your battles with precision. The Platinum Edition allows you to purchase both the first game and its expansion at once, which is what makes it a very appealing buy for someone just starting an account. With Guild Wars 2 still a long ways out, it's not too late to jump in and enjoy the original storyline. Features of this product: 4 character slots, 5 character classes, extended map (compared to stand-alone Prophesies game), PvE and PvP options, 4 unlockable heroes. ArenaNet also allows you to purchase extra character slots in game for $10, as well as storage upgrades, makeovers, and other customizable features. (I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting, but overall I really enjoy this game and the people I've met in my guild. Hope to see you in game!)Read full review
