Every once in a while a book crosses my path that leaves me searching for superlatives. The Great Book of Trains is one of those books. I can’t believe that I picked it up online for less than $5.00. It is a magnificent tribute to the history of the locomotive, from the early 1800s to the late 1900s. It is filled with a wealth of beautiful colour renderings of both historic as well as contemporary locomotives from around the world. Add to that a great profusion of mostly colour photographs, and a lively text and in my humble estimation you have a real winner. You can find this book dirt- cheap online, so get yourself a copy. If you like Trains, you will not be disappointed.
