From what I know, this one is basically the same as the other commercially produced DVD shows. The video is not HD (duh), but it is clear and not grainy. The camera shots are amazing - you can see the boys up close all throughout the show. The audio quality was better than expected. On a 5.1 the bass comes through and the guitars and vocals are crisp. The set list song selection is top notch here you can’t pick a good stopping point if you’re just trying to watch an hour’s worth

The Grateful Dead's Downhill from here, DVD, was a purchase I couldn't wait to win. The most important aspect of the bid, was the fact I was at this concert, in Alpine Valley Wisconsin, back in 1989. The Dead start off the first set with, "Let The Good Times Roll", A great bounce of energy to begin a long strange trip. In the first set, they break into, "Built To Last", a tune not yet released. That tune, Along with, "Standing on the Moon", in the second set, are on the Built to Last CD, relesed later that year on Halloween. The Second set takes off with an extrordinary China Cat I know you Rider. Drums thunders away in a rhythmic dance, and space takes you to another lever, just to bring you back down with a smooth transition into, "The Wheel". This DVD has a visible lyric option, Dead Trivia interaction, and some tid bits about Alpine Valley. The show was digitally remastered to optimize excellent quality. This DVD is a definite for any deadheads collection. With hassle free ebay, this DVD is always on the site, on a bid war , between peaceful music lovers.Read full review
