Love this series from years ago and so happy to now own a box set . Watch a few and so far working fine , quality is good although can be a little grainy at times . BBC are notoriously bad for that as everything was done on the cheap. But you can’t fault the quality of acting ,comedy and entertainment ,superb.

I first watched this series 30 years ago when it came on pbs once a week and fell in love with the plots and actors. It is still great. Having it on dvd to watch at my convenience is even better.

Good Neighbors is about a couple who decide to become self-sufficient by living off the land, while still living in a residential town. It's witty and many times humorous, but at times it's odd and unrealistic. However, the humor of the unrealistic parts is what makes this series thrive. It's imaginative and makes one wonder whether being self-sufficient is possible to attain while living in a suburban area. In some ways, it offers ideas of how to conserve, make do, recycle, or learn to live without much of the luxuries consuming our time and money in our daily lives. I purchased this series as it is British Comedy, and I'm fascinated with British humor.
Classic British television. Some moments that show its age, but most of the comedy holds up, and the characters are memorable. The only thing I fault it for is not having subtitles "for the hearing impaired" and those of us who aren't as attuned to British accents and idioms.
