I've been a Godzilla fan since I was about five years old. That being said, I wasn't exactly thrilled with this comic. I was rather disappointed with the fact that it's all black & white and that they re-wrote the story of Godzilla by disregarding everything other than his origin. However, I loved the fact that the writers kept the monster battles in the storylines. Age of Monsters collects several comics from Dark Horse Comic's run of Godzilla from the mid-90's. The main focus throughout Age of Monsters is one woman's quest to destroy Godzilla and the G-Force's attempts to protect Japan from Godzilla. Throughout the collection, Godzilla must battle a space bat, a man-made robotic dinosaur, an ancient demon who protects an island and even a poison that threatens his life. All in all this aren't the best comics I've read. I read this primarily for nostalgia and they really don't add much too the Godzilla mythos.Read full review
