I also have a 2005 AAA+ top Vintage Burst. And a set of Burstbucker Pros. My guitar came off assembly line in March anything after June I believe went to the full on weight reduction I am positive about the Weight reduction but not 100% sure if it was June or July. I do know mine weighs 10.82 lbs some as myself will never buy a new LPS again because I believe the wood and the weight make a lot of difference and my best friend who should be famous believes weight makes it's difference breaking your shoulder. All I know is for some reason I was given advice by a general manager at Guitar Center never to sell it and the other was a very well known player who said the same so I'll never sell. But whatever I believe 2005 was the last year the build was very close to the mid 50s on to much tech on them now drowning in priceRead full review

To set the stage, I'm an older player. My favorite t-shirt has the 1952 ad for the first ever Les Paul circa 1952, the year I was born. This is my fourth LP and frankly, may be the best I've had. It begins with the visual ascetic where you have the simple beauty of the design, the material and craftsmanship. And of course, the tone. Let me just take a breath and use that word again, TONE. .... "'till Tuesday". I had only had it a day or so before taking it to a practice. After playing a couple of pieces and getting the obvious "Ooohs and Ahhhs", the drummer asked how long it took to dial in the sound and I just chuckled, "This is the first I've had it plugged in!" I just put a set of nines on it. Legendary tone right out of the case. (It doesn't hurt that I play thru a Marshall tube amp which completes the set.) Best of all, unlike my first from '76, this one weighs in a comfortable 8.5 lbs. Everything a Gibson lover wants without that huge hardship in lower back pain. I love it.Read full review
This is a beautiful guitar. A few blemishes but nothing that was a surprise. Sounds great, feels great. I'm happy with the purchase.

I own this LP and this guitar has everything one could desire in an R0 LP. The Burst Bucker 1 & 2 combination is sweet for all genres of music and really great for rock and blues when combined with an Ibanez Tube Screamer, the slim taper 60's neck is extremely fast for those runs we all love. Also, the Desert Burst AAAA Flamed Maple top is exquisite in appearance. I've been playing guitar for 55 years and it just does not get any better than this LP.

They are using a newly calculated weight relief configuration that really keeps the tone/sustain of the lighter and way more expensive Historic LP's. Some players like the less expensive heaver solid mahogany that has been used on most LP's since 1965 and that is cool but, I prefer the lighter weight pre 1965 LP's sound which the lighter Historic's come close too and now this more affordable 2016 LP Standard T also comes close too not to mention the home run neck feel with the new asymmetrical 60's slim taper back and compound radius fret board. I was very skeptical until I tried one and had to have it!
