I'll admit right from the get go that I do not watch allot of tv. I am however a fan of the History Channel, The Science Channel and NatGeo. In 2010 (better late than never) I discovered a show called, "Ghost Adventures" starring "The Man" Zak Bagans. He and his two crew, pick sites to investigate for what can only be described as supernatural spirits. They record and play it back for the rest of us to hear and judge for ourselves. In the beginning, as I watched, I at least had something to compare it to, "Ghost Hunters" which airs on SyFy Channel. I swear people it was like someone had opened my eyes for the first time because compared to "Ghost Adventures", the folks over at "Ghost Hunters" are like amateurs (no offense). Here's why. At the end of every "Ghost Hunter" episode there is what is called "The Reveal". This is the part where they go over any evidence captured while investigating the site for spirits. Basically it all comes down to a "ding". And they ask, "Did you hear that?" And they literally are getting excited over it and I sit there and I think, "are these guys serious?" "Don't they realize what is happening over at the Travel Channel and "Ghost Adventures" I will explain further. Basically, on "Ghost Adventures", you don't have to wait until the end of the episode to hear the reveal because it is occurring while you watch. The Producer, Zak Bagans, will stop and let us know that at that exact time, they recorded something, perhaps voices or a banging, footsteps, whatever. The point is this show is very exciting and I think it deserves to be in the top ten (10) cable shows of 2010. I just recently bought seasons 1 & 2 (I only discovered the show in 2010 and it's been airing since 2008). The show is run by three guys who all definitely have wit and humor which they bring to the show. They are not afraid to speak the truth even if it means poking fun at themselves. Still, all three of them are intelligent (mostly) and all in all I'd have to say they are really brave doing the things they do.....in the dark.... all alone... Watch it! I give it easily 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.Read full review
Hello im a big fan of peranormal investegations, i love ghost adventures because its 100% real footage ( not like ghost hunters ) ok if you like ghost but hate the fake videos than this is your dvd. Here are the reasons why you should buy this item, Afraid of the dark? Now find out why as paranormal investigator Zak Bagans and his crew, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin, travel from Idaho to Scotland, and anywhere in between, to scare up the most unearthly mysteries and ghost sightings imaginable. Their in-depth investigations take the team to notoriously haunted locales where they research the history of paranormal phenomena, interview eye-witnesses and then face off with the spirits themselves in this series that will chill your blood and make you want to sleep with the lights on. I used to be a diehard Ghost Hunters fan. Well, now that Ghost Hunters are boring, aging, and faking evidence, I got interested again in watching Ghost Adventures. What these three guys achieve as far as REAL evidence, energetic film making, and giving us a more satisfying back story to each haunted location, is far above and beyond what Ghost Hunters is dredging out these days. I like the way Zak provokes "only the bad entities" and ultimately gets results. Their reactions to their interactions with the spirit world are genuine and fun to watch. These guys are the real deal and unlike GH, they scream and run sometimes, and you know what? So would I!!! That's why I love them. I love that they take more time to show us the history of the locations and they are very respectful of the people they interview. It just adds so much more to the show and to our experience. Try not to be moved by "Redbone", the ex-inmate of Moundsville Penitentiary, who couldn't wait to take the boys on a tour of the prison after over 20 years of freedom from its walls, only to have to leave in tears when visiting his best friend's cell and recalling the day of his friend's murder in that very cell. VERY touching stuff. Zak, Aaron, and Nick love what they do and it shows. The episodes are sufficiently creepy and amazing in the evidence they produce. You will not be disappointed.Read full review
This was a good box set. It is about what you would expect out of a TV show box set. I liked the bonus features on the first disc. My favorite was when they interviewed the GA team individually on their most terrifying experiences while investigating. Other bonus features include: Zak's gear guide, deleted scenes, and trailers of the show. The quality of the DVD is far better than watching it on netflix or TV. You can hear and see things you couldn't really see or hear before. I would recommend this DVD to GA fans and those who love the show.
I have loved Ghost Adventures since the first season. I am finally getting around to buying the first seasons. I think they are the best of the series. I love Nick.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
I love Ghost Adventures because my paranormal group is investigate in the same manor as Zack, Nick, and Erin. I bought the dvd set as a reference tool to learn from them and the fact that I realy just got into this kinda thing and I didnt catch the first season. The dvd's are simple. Theres no bs advertisments. The product at the price was a great value for a new box set in the wrapper. Just a good product.
