George Ohr Rare and Authentic vase

Offered today is a rare  and authentic George Ohr vase.George Ohr, "The Mad Potter of Biloxi" , is known world wide for his eccentric personality and the uniqueness of his pottery masterpieces. This vase is in the unglazed or Bisque form. For years many collectors thought the unglazed bisque examples were unfinished pieces. What really happened was that around 1905  when George Ohr hit the pinnacle of his career as a potter, he stopped glazing his pots. He left them unglazed, bisque finished. He said that "God put no color in the soul, so I'm going to put no color in my pots". This vase is 5 inches tall, 3 inches at the base and 2 3/4 inches at the top. It is in the two tiered shape. . There are some small discolorations in the clay. As can be seen in the photo, there is one very small stress crack in the lower portion of the vase. It is due to  lack of humidity over the hundred years  and not due to any blunt force againist it. In the photos there appears to be a "pothole" in the vase. It is actually a discoloration in the vase and is smooth to the touch. Bisque Ohr examples have become more sought after in the past few years, and collector interest, as well as the value, in the bisque examples has increased greatly.I will let the photos speak for themselves. This is a beautiful authentic Ohr vase with no chips and only the one very small crack. The small crack is only visible when the vase is held on it's side. This vase was purchased in Biloxi, Mississippi where Ohr lived. I purchased two vases in 1985 from an art/ antique dealer in Biloxi. The Ohr/O'Keefe museum is now located in Biloxi , Ms. The vase is guaranteed to be an authentic George Ohr vase. The small crack can be seen in the photo with the ruler across the base of the vase where Ohr's signature is.. It is very, very small and does not distract from the beauty of the vase. This vase is from Ohr's work later in life. He usually stamped "Biloxi, Ms" or GEO. E. OHR  in his early works, but started adding his signature to the base of his works later in life.
