The best thing I can say about the Hampton bay Replacement ceiling Fan is Thank U, Thank U for having this. My old one stopped working, and we had to turn everything on by hand. It is really doing it's job in turning on the fan and lights. U don't really know how much U miss something until U no longer has it. Again thank U so much for having this remote. The price was right, it was package nice and delivery service was fast. It's been quite a while so I don't really know if it was free ship. If it was, that's always a buying deal for me. Keep the good service up. Customer, Beverly L

I ordered this remote for my parents based on the UC7078T part number on the back of their original remote control, but it is not identical, in that this remote is designed to control one light, whereas the original has buttons for both the up and downlights. Instead, this remote has a "Reverse" button. I suppose that I should have taken a photo of my parents' remote for comparison before I ordered, as some ebay vendors do have the correct version (with green uplight and downlight buttons) but as it turns out, the LIGHT/DIMMER button controls the downlight of the fan, which is what they use 99% of the time, and while the REVERSE button has no effect on the fan's operation, the fan speed and light on/off/dimmer functions work with their fan. Since my parents find the lack of Uplight control acceptable, I would recommend this remote control with reservations. If, however, your fan has both Uplighting and Downlighting, and you want to control both, look for the version with the proper buttons.Read full review

It works great with my fan. If you have kids like me the remote can get jolted, bounced and thrown around the room. When that happens I noticed that the battery can move around and flip the switches inside the remote, thereby making the remote stop working. A simple modification is to secure the battery inside the remote with Velcro. If it came from the supplier with this manufacturing deficiency already solved then I would give it 5 stars.

I just bought a house with 3 Hampton Bay ceiling fans. Much to my dismay, one was missing a remote, rendering the fan inoperable. I took a chance on this remote and was disappointed when it did not work out of the box. HOWEVER, a quick bit of Internet research explained the tiny little switches inside the remote. I made one adjustment and Bingo! Success! My husband thinks I am a tech genius for figuring it out. ( BTW, I am a 70+ year old female and not particularly handy with electronics.)

This remote is for the Hampton Bay Pilot ceiling fan. It's the fan that looks like a propeller as the top blades rotate one way and the bottom blades rotate the opposite direction. The remote turns the light on and off and dims it. It also controls the speed of the fan. Mine works perfect!
