We bought this for a trip to New Zealand. Overall, it preformed very well. Many of the smaller towns are not listed in it's program, but with some fooling around with a map and entering different names, we could always find our way to where we wanted to go. Also, many of the attractions, like certain waterfalls or beaches are not in it's memory, so a good guide books helps you to narrow down what you need to enter for directions. The driving instructions were very accurate for the most part. With it's pronunciation of the Maori place names it was very helpful to have a navigator running the GPS as you couldn't always understand a place name and had to look at the spelling. I have used better and worse GPS's, but for the money this is handy for travel to New Zealand. It would have been tough driving without it.Read full review

Purchased this unit for travelling in Italy, in the instructions it said to dis-able the North America maps which I did, but every time you make a wrong turn, in Italy, it has to reload maps as it can not hold enough in it memory. At times I felt like throwing the unit out the window as it was so frustrating waiting up to 2 min for the unit to reload. the unit does work quite well in Canada though but that was not why I purchased it. disappointing

Absolutely love the features on this product. Bluetooth for the cell phone gives me handsfree operation and a speaker phone without taking phone from my waist. Clear directions with turn by turn with street names. Accurate detours and every point of interest you can imagine. Touch screen works great and easy to type in addresses. Wider screen gives better viewing capabilities which makes it safer than smaller versions Simple to learn and traffic feature works great if you are around the cities it works in. They could expand that further, but saved me 45 minutes in D.C. last week. Price was unbeatable brand new in the box never been open can sell for $300 or more with Live traffic for life. Got mine still in the plastic wrap for less than $250 with free shipping. Another great Ebay find High quality product but what else would you expect from Garmin the leader in GPS.Read full review
GPS was refurbished. Normally i would stay away from anything but new but this is still backed by the 1 year warranty so I feel good about owning it. The unit has all of the features I wantd including bluetooth. The menu and navagating through them takes a little time and the keyboard is hard to work at times. I like the wide screen and map of the road. The simulator is also fine. I am a little suspicious of the cradle and how it will hold up so i bought three more as backup. The directions to a selected address are going to vary considerably if you have used the avoidance feature under navigation. If you select avoid highways and toll roads and try to go too far, the route taken may not be what you want. You have to check your route preferences and avoidance options before any trip to make sure you have the settings which make sence. Downloading stuff (maps and vehicles)from the garmin web site is easy enough. I purchased an A/C Wall charger but you don't really need one since the unit is charging every time you are driving with the FM receiver/Car adapter connected to the 12 volt supply in the vehicle. I would recommend this unit to anyone with any experience level with GPS.Read full review
After a lot of research on which GPS unit to buy - I decided on the Garmin 265WT. I have been very happy with it. The reasons I decided to buy this unit? Garmin lets you update maps for free if there is a new map since your purchase; this unit - while more expensive than some of the base models - has free lifetime traffic. This is a great feature and has helped me find alternate routes around rush hour traffic and accidents; And lastly I wanted the bluetooth feature on this model. I was skeptical that it would be of any quality, but it works surprisingly well. Calls are easy to answer on the unit and also easy to ignore if I want. Callers sometimes don't even know I'm talking on a speaker phone. One downside of most of the GPS devices including this one is that the mount for the unit really is not very secure and when applied to the windshield it leaves ugly marks. I paid extra for the Portable Friction Mount for the Garmin Nuvi and am very happy with it. It sits very securely on the dash board now and I can move it easily between cars. I wish it came with the unit though! Still all in all I love it and my family all shares it and loves it too. I would definitely reccommend this model.Read full review
