I use to have a Garmin GPS where the power cord went directly into the suction cup base. This made the removal of the device for security purposes tremendously easy! It has become annoying that when I remove device from the suction cup mount, the cord is directly plugged into the device and I have to go through the trouble of disconnecting the cord from the device to store it in the trunk, etc. Maybe a small thing but I guess I have to do this multiple times a day which is why it has become a small issue with me.

I've used Garmin GPS on my motorcycles for years. My last Garmin 1100 was a good GPS, reliable and easy to use, but I wanted something with the lifetime maps, because spending $50 every year to update the maps isn't fun. I bought this 1300 LMT a few months ago, it works pretty good, not quite as bright on the screen as the older one was, but the maps are better with more info. Just be sure that whenever you buy a GPS, get a 4 GB or larger SD card, so that you can download all the maps and accessories. I mostly use my GPS for monitoring my speed and keeping track of my mileage, since it is far more accurate than the stock speedometer on the bike. I sometimes will also use it in the car when we are on a long trip.

I purchased the unit as a Christmas present for my wife. We live in a rural area so city driving often flusters her but after receiving it we made a trip to St Louis and instead of waking me outside the city she drove right downtown to where we were staying. For me that was the only test it needed, money well spent. She has found it easy to program and use. The only thing I would like to see added is a reroute shortcut so when you come up on heavy traffic you could just hit the button for a different route. We have used it numerous times already and wished we would have gotten one sooner. The display is fine just didn't think it rated excellent and the features only wanted for a reroute button. I would definately recommend it to anyone.
The Nuvi has already kept me from getting lost. We took a trip on the back roads of Nevada and ended up in Utah. The Nuvi guided us back home. Very easy to use with the touch screen and all the extra information on the screen. I also have a Garmin Street Pilot and have loved it. The Nuvi has a few more features and updates. I bought it because the price was right and I know I can depend on the Garmin name.
It works well, clear directions, boots up reasonably quickly. Mostly needs to be used plugged into the lighter socket with its cord, as the battery only lasts about half an hour unplugged, but that's not a big deal for me, Overall very good product and a great value.
