The soft strap lasts me about one year, riding 5 hours per week. I rise it after every use and wash it after every 6 uses as directed, but it still starts to fail after a year. I've used the hard strap version from Garmin for over 5 years and they still work well and I don't actually really notice any discomfort. I do travel allot, so the stoft strap is much more convenient to pack.

I bought this strap to replace my 4-years old strap that came with my Garmin 410 watch. I have to say that the HR readings with the new strap are rock-solid and very consistent in all kinds of conditions (colder temperatures, for example).

My old Garmin HRM2 transmitter was not working properly. I replaced it with this new strap and now the signal is solid. So far, so good.

This is a must have for anyone who is doing heart zone training. I have tried the wrist monitors and the technology is no there. I use it to run in Zone 2 for training. This is my most important piece of equipment that I pair with my Garmin Watch.
