A very good read. Philosophy expressed as building style. Archaic language and small print, but it is the historical record I was looking for concerning craftsman buildings.

This book was purchased solely for my reference library to further my education of the American arts and crafts movement. The bonus came as I discovered a wonderful collection of floor plans, pictures of both interior and exterior treatment and detailed depictions of related furniture. I have read, cover to cover and have revisited specific book marked sections several times already. A true "Must Have" for those who own, hope to own or dream of building in this style. A great addition to any personal library if you are seeking insight into form and functionality with the emphasis on simplicity. Presented warmly to nurture an appreciation the art form. The easy reading flows seamlessly from page to page. 296 illustrations, taken from the pages of "The Craftsman" magazine (1901-16) by Gustav Stickley. I have a new found appreciation, deeper understanding and rekindled love of the old homes of my town. Grab your copy today.Read full review

This is a wonderful book, full of fine examples of cottages and homes designed by reknowned architect Gustav Stickley. Anyone who loves Arts & Crafts era designs must have this book! I bought a second just to have a better copy and share my old one with my son-in-law. Great Book!
