When Phil Bourjaily and David E. Petzal get together to write, especially anything to do with guns, shooting, hunting or pretty much anything else for that matter, people who love fine writing, especially gun people, sit up and take notice. This book is the "100 Greatest Firearms", mostly American of course, with truly stunning photos, a few short paragraphs as to why they are the best, and some general information. Of course, there is always a difference of opinion as to what is a great gun, I mean the Mossburg 500(?!) for example, but they make a good case for each gun included, and the book is both beautiful and enjoyable to read. This is a coffee table book of lovely photos, not a book for the person wanting to know all about firearms, and the what, why, when, where and how, but a look at some of the finest, and highly engraved, inlaid and stunning guns ever made. Any lover of guns OR beauty, will love this book.Read full review

Petzal and Bourjaily know quality when they see it and feel it. Be careful to not drool on the photographs. These firearms are investment grade.

A must have book in any firearms library. It touches on a wide array of firearms as well as the makers and their history. A great value for the price and as indicated in their write up a very nice coffee table picture book. I just need a bigger coffee table now. Etienne Molle, St. Anthony, Idaho
