The good: The main reason I got this, is because they only make 2 Guitar Hero games for PC. (guitar hero III, and Guitar Hero Aerosmith). So after having played GHIII for a couple of years I decided that I needed more songs and bought this game. It's fun, and has some good Aerosmith songs. But it's not as good as Guitar Hero III. It's also interesting in that it takes you through the journey of the band. It starts off from when they were just a few guys who loved to play high school proms, to the present when they are huge rock stars. It also includes video comentaries by the band which are pretty cool. The Bad: Half of the songs suck, or are not songs that I enjoy listening to. But there are also good hits on there, so it's 50/50 for me. There seems to be a lag between the speed the screen moves and the music, I don't know if it's jsut my computer, but the other Guitar Hero game I have doesn't do this.Read full review
I haven't been a console gamer since the PS2, not since building a gaming computer. I get to play all the new titles and what-not, but I had always wanted to play Guitar Hero after going to a cousin's for Fourth of July and playing it for hours on end. It was something I had never gotten from a game before. I had always thought my only alternative was Frets on Fire, which I did get into a little, but after installing and playing this, there really is no substitute. It's fun, rock-oriented rhythm goodness. Co-op just adds to the experience. Yes it's monotonous, and yes it really only caters to people who like rock, but sometimes you just want to press colored buttons in time to music, mindlessly in front of your computer. It's a good stress-reliever. Only con was that the controller I got with it had its star power stuck all the way on. I called Activision and the ended up just sending me a replacement for free; they didn't even want the broken one back. So I essentially have two working controllers for the price of one, one just activates star power the second you accumulate it. Makes for some interesting boss-battles. So this is really a product I would recommend for anyone who doesn't have a console but likes rhythm games, and can tolerate the hour it takes to install. Beyond that it's all fun, and as you get more familiar with the controller, you can increase the difficulty. After about 20 hours I was comfortable on hard. Expert is still a little much for me, although I can do a few songs, three-stars of course, but it's a pass. I did finally get bored with it, but it was good for about 20-25 hours of gameplay. A lot of it is redoing songs on higher difficulties. A plus is that you can use the included guitar with World Tour for the PC. If you can find it, it took me a little while to find a copy with decent shipping. In summation: good fun, but it's Guitar Hero, so you know what you're getting. Don't expect a good story or particularly fancy graphics. If you're okay with that, this is certainly a good deal, now they've come down in price from eighty dollars.Read full review
You will need an older software macOS for it to work properly. Runs & tested on OS X Yosemite. Great graphics & very responsive. i love this game.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: New
Guitar Hero III PC version (both Legends and Aerosmith) requires ridiculously high PC configuration. If you don't have a hard-core gaming pc with a screaming video card, you may be frustrated when you go through the 5GB install only to end up with a lousy 'video card not supported' dialog, which renders the whole set an expensive paperweight. I have a Dell laptop with embedded Intel HD video card. The readme file on the disc mentioned explicitly that on-board Intel cards were not supported. If only I had known...Worse, there are no other games you can use the guitar controller with. Go to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ and install the plugin to benchmark your computer BEFORE you make an attempt to buy this game.
Great game! Great Musics! The only problem is the restriction of the game to use other gamepads. Then you can only use the keyboard or the guitar.... Or if you have knowledge with computer, you can download a software that can emulate de keyboard keys in your gamepad.
