This phone is very nice and unique. It is well made, the battery is decent and the screen is beautiful. The features are great as well, add the memory card you have a 1st class deal. However, I found using this phone awkward at times because of the rotating screen. It is strange dialing and using for everyday use sometimes but is still nice for texting messaging compared to other standard phones. The rotating screen would be much less of an issue if I had constant access to mobile tv like I used to when I travelled more. Now I am at home more and I have no access to the service so the phone became a little annoying.
I first owned this device many years ago and ended moving into "smart" phones like we all did. I had to have this phone when it first came out, but smart phones took over. Now, here I am, 15 smart phones later and, I STILL love everything about this device. The colors are awesome! Don't misunderstand, I'm not some caveman who can't figure out which side of a smart phone is the front. I ALWAYS keep my iPad in my shoulder bag and a Windows tablet and keyboard in briefcase or my trunk, but two of the main things are: 1) The LG VX actually feels like a phone by the way it hugs your face and these physical keys wont face-dial, 2) Worst of all, it doesn't matter if you buff and professionally polish your brand new smartphone with its $65 screen protector, the split second you put the device up to your face, that clear screen IS RUINED! And don't let someone else put it up to their face..when you get it back there's enough oil and grease on the screen to deep fry a Thanksgiving Turkey. So, I am super happy with my LG. This phone is simple and sturdy. Perfect phone for those who don't want frills. It is blue-tooth enabled, internet accessible, and can shoot video. The camera feature is easy to use. It holds a charge for a very long time and I find the size and weight of the phone very convenient.
Since the LG VX9400 came out in mid 2007 I've always wanted one. I even switched cell carriers to get one, only to find out it was no longer offered. Then watching the first IRON MAN movie when they showed it just fueled my fire. I have been using the VX9400 for one month now and I am no longer impressed. Despite its bold good looks, having the directional pad BELOW the keypad is cumbersome to use. And having to swing it open to use keypad when on a call to put in passwords or anything, makes it difficult to hear out of. I enjoy the simplicity of LG's menu. I like the VCAST TV and music features. The web browsing is just as good as any non-smartphone (which means not worth having). Overall its a OK phone that seams well built, durable, looks good but takes lots of practice to get used to texting on it (I still haven't). You can now understand some of my disappointment in it. I am glad I bought it but would not buy it again.Read full review
This is my third VX9400. I'm an expert texter and use it constantly. I am a big fan of clam-shell design so this is my favorite phone. The display is large and the GUI is superb for this era of LG phone. The only downside is the bugs that occur with the screen. On all three phones the screen has sometimes flipped mirror image, reverted colors, and gone completely black after putting pressure on the screen. I'll still keep using this phone until Verizon comes out with the iPhone because the new touch screen s LG has are horrendous.
