The exhaust system (which is steel with chrome plating) had not been off my antique BMW motorcycle for many years. The slip joints were essentially welded together with rust and carbon buildup. I tried all manner of penetrating oils and Free All is the only one of the bunch that was effective in loosening the joint. I could tell immediately that a reaction was taking place by the rust I was getting on the rag I used to wipe off the excess. It took about three days each to break the slip joints leaving the Free All to soak in over night, but it was worth the wait. The chrome plating cleaned up like new (almost). Also seems to work well for removing surface rust from chrome plated surfaces. None of the other penetrating oils I tried seemed to do much, if anything. Therefore, highly recommend Free All.Read full review

Not so great . Especially on metal which is the most important. I commend the folk that praised it but maybe good on other surfaces. Also it sprays like a single line instead of a wider spray so a small metal surface does not get enough stuff on it. Needs scrubbing too and eventually it takes the shiny surface off so that gives rise to more future rust.

After using my trusted go-to Liquid Wrench on an impossibly frozen O2 sensor that had been basically welded into the exhaust after 8+ years of engine heating and cooling cycles, I tried FREE ALL as a last resort before I would have to take the car into a shop to have a blowtorch used to unseal the sensor. FREE ALL did the trick and beautifully! The secret is to bathe the sensor at its base where it meets the exhaust bung and let it sit overnight, then bathe it again and let sit for an hour or two before going in to untorque the sensor from the exhaust. A quick tightening-then loosening of the sensor after that and it unfroze and came straight out. FREE ALL is the stuff. Give it the time to work and you won't be disappointed.

I haven't had a chance to use it for the reason I purchased it...to get my old contractor's saw moving again after years of non use here on the coast. However, I tried it on some rusted screws on an old plane that had been equally unused. At first I was not able to loosen the screws...so that I could de-rust the parts...but then they broke free easily. Looking forward to trying it on the saw come Spring.

During a Casual conversation with a Mechanic of 40 years, the topic of penetrating products came up. The Usual products were Mentioned: KROIL, PB. BLASTER, LIQUID WRENCH, 2+2 etc. The Mechanic asked me if I ever heard of FREE ALL. I answered that I had not and asked him to elaborate. He said in all the years he's been a mechanic, he's NEVER seen anything like this product. He told me to GET SOME, and that I'd understand. I had a repair on my MINT Condition Classic truck to look forward to and it involved lots of Rusty Exhaust Manifold Bolts, and threaded Large Diameter Exhaust flanges. I ordered this product and it arrived several days later. Not wanting to get this product all over my truck, I gingerly sprayed each Bolt head with a very small amount and saw it disappear around the bolt and out of my view like it was Sucked In by an unseen force. I noted that the instructions did NOT say either "SOAK" or "OVERNIGHT". It says something like spray on and wait a few minutes ... I did wait overnight and was Not looking forward to doing battle, Vice Grips, Torches, Hammers etc. I put my wrench on the Rusty bolt head by tapping it onto the head with a hammer. I applied pressure but it did not budge. I got a small pipe and used it as a breaker bar and the Damned bolt SNAPPED .... Or so I thought. It Snapped LOSE and was free. I took the wrench off and just for fun grabbed the bolt with my fingertips. I was able to thread it out by hand after Initial break lose. This happened for every single bolt and nut I sprayed as well as the threaded Pipe fittings ... WOW, Just WOW ! I'll never buy any other product for this purpose. All I can say is THANK YOU for whatever technology went into making this stuff. BUY it, USE IT, And be AMAZED !Read full review
