If you are a die-hard strat player, once you play an s500 you will never want to go back to a fender. The specially wound pick ups are the best sounding, most versatile single coils i have ever played. The wireing with the toggle switch , and the passive bass treble blend knob allows an almost unlimited number of tone variations. the usa, or tribute s500s both use usa electronics .AND THE Build quality is not much different. A little fret dressing on the tribute and they play and sound the same. I Currently own 6 g&ls and as many fenders, gibsons, and schecters, and the s500 is my go to guitar for almost any kind of music
I liked the guitar, however, I thought that one should not see the lines where the 3 piece body joined together, it might have been better to order a colored guitar. That said it plays and sounds very good. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

I wanted to love this guitar, and I'm still trying.I can't get the action low enough, and I can't get the frett buzz to stop.I replaced the nut and it still was awful so I put a shim under the nut and it's still buzzing without the highest action.

Great find. However, I can't tell you how it plays. If Jake signed it I'm sure it rocks though.I picked up a Jake Bar from the umphreys sight and installed it. The guitar is going to go in a display case on the wall. I'll stick to playing my acoustic guitar for now.
