I once heard this bad girl described as that. As a child, I felt that the female cast was just as important to GI Joe as the males and was always disappointed by Hasbro's attitude towards female characters not being made into figures. As a child in the late 80's early 90's I hit that time period where females were not hardly made at all. I remember being beside myself happy to get the ninja force Scarlett they finally released. When I got a little older, I found the original baroness online and mom helped me purchase her. I thought she was awesome! Fast-forward to today. I'm 31. In part because of my love of the stories I could tell and cool styling of toys like GI Joe, I became a fiction writer and author. The newest generation of these figures is sometimes great and other times not so much. This figure is one of those that is great in man many ways. Negatives first though: Aesthetically, as an artist, I would have liked her to sport a little more of her modern designs shown in comic book adaptations of her, like modern styled, more squared off glasses, more dynamic hair, and more costume details that were painted. In truth, I loved the last baroness in that her suit was clearly a military dark grey uniform under black body armor and we lose that nice touch here. All that said, this is one of the best female sculpts of this scale. She is feminine, sexy, but not overly endowed. Her face is sarcastic and well painted and the hair is a different shade of plastic to the body which is a nice touch. The silver accents add a bit more detail and help her stand out. Final verdict: on a scale of 1 to 10 I give her a high 8. Last thoughts: When I look for a baroness in figure form, i hold her up to the original in spirit. Not the bumbling idiot from the cartoon, but the original intended spirit of the character and her original action figure. This one isn't quite there in that there was a serious, dark, but soft touch that the face of the original captured even back then. Baroness is a bad guy you like. I think Hasbro has forgotten this with her. BUT! That said, for this generation of figures, she holds up as stellar. A great figure, and a passable to good representation of the character very much worth getting.Read full review
