I wanted to be able to get a classic Stevie Ray Vaughan type tone, and just in general add more subtle texture to my sound. The MDV-2 delivers. The pedal is well built, and does not produce any extraneous noise. I have only found use for the chorus setting, not the vibrato setting. The chorus sound is not like a typical chorus pedal - think Jimi Hendrix playing The Star Spangled Banner - it's that type of sound. Overall it does what I expected. Great pedal.
This is not one of those "always-on" units. It certainly works well for those Stevie Ray or Robin Trower tunes. A very subtle effect that takes some tweaking to get right. I gave this one 5 stars for the build quality alone.....it's a tank. Find a used one to get a good price since these things are expensive. I'm not disappointed.

This is an okay sounding effect. It is well-made, although I don't find myself using it very often. Like other Fulltone products, I think this one is also over-priced. I started buying Fulltone pedals because they are pretty much exclusively what Robin Trower uses. What can I say, I'm not Robin Trower. I am glad I got a good deal on it through EBAY, however, which made it affordable for me. As always, and whenever possible, try before you buy.
I love how this pedal is setup and is wired exactly like a vintage Uni-Vibe, true to the original 1960's Uni-Vibe circuit. exact Photocell Replication of the original. This pedal sounds just like the original just with more functionality and practicality. There is true bypass switching. Heel Switch, like original. Vintage and Modern modes. The voltage input is 9volts just as is any common guitar pedal. And all the components are in the single pedal so no seperate box. Overall can't beat this if you no kidding want the real Uni-Vibe sound!
At the top of the pack of Univibes. Mike Fuller is about as good as it gets in the effects department. His pedals possess legendary sound and quality. The scary thing is that his new stuff is actually better than his older stuff. He is not sitting on his laurels. His company is big enough to do what it does right and small enough to not cut economic corners or compromise. Lastly the best build quality I have found in any pedals!
