This is the second Fujitso FI-5110C I have purchased. This is for my wife. I have had my first one for about a year now. I'm a Microsoft Partner and Computer Systems Consultant. I can tell you that there is no better scanner on the market today in this price range, that will scan both sides of the page in the same time that it takes to scan 1 side. Additionally, the user interface is extreemly easy and intuitive to use. It has a document sheet feeder which will handle 50 seets unattended. But don't go too far, because it's a real fast scanner. If you want to sit and continue to feed it paper, you can create 1 scan of 500 or more pages. Just keep filling the sheet feeder when it gets down to about the last 10 pages, and you can go for as long as you like! It scans color, B&W. halftones and just about anything without a hitch. I would recommend this scanner to anyone who is in the market to buy one.Read full review
When I pay $300 for an item, used or not, I expect some level of performance. While the scanner does a wonderful job at scanning, some of the features I bought it for are marginal at the least. One, the individual sheet feeder is not efficient and often feeds multiple sheets jamming the machine. The item did not come with software so I had to make due with what came with my Windows 7, what I am able to salvage from free downloads, and have yet to figure out something to use as OCR in making searchable PDF files. Capable of scanning two sides in one pass it is very fast except for having to feed one sheet at a time. My goal, however, was to digitize my paper files, cut some of my older books, and scan them for digital storage. Having to feed them one sheet at a time nixes that idea. Suggestion, buy one if you find one, but be ready for disappointment. Bottom line is I can find better ways of spending $300.Read full review
