As an "amateur" who wants to take quality shots for business purposes, I would rate this camera as a good buy. The huge negative is that it takes AA batteries, and they run out incredibly fast. I would have loved a tilting, semi-articulate viewing screen, but this is okay. The shots are great, the features are easy to use and in Auto mode, it produces well-balanced photos. It is slower than I might like when taking photos in low light, taking quite some time to store the shot. For $175 it is worth the small investment. However, I feel like I could be getting the same results with a much smaller camera that I can fit into my bag. This camera is not for discerning photographers, but for the rest of us, it will do nicely.
I needed a camera to take 1080p video at 60fps. This is the best cheap way to do it. Auto focus is very fast so is face recog. Only downside is the AC adapter is hard to find. You need a AA faux battery not just the brick power supply. Be aware. Runs on AA batteries which is actually a good thing because a Lithium from 2013 would be dead by know.

I realize 5 stars for a camera like this seems odd. I own some very expensive cameras but I just love the images this takes. This was a replacement for the same model that I dropped.
