It's a great looking camera, as a bridge type it looks more like a DSLR than a megazoom, making feel it as the full of features equipment it is. I'm used to a smaller megazoom at same price level but not versatility level as this one, so I'm very happy and impressed with quality image, pro feeling and new options at hand without the cost and size of a DSLR. Love the use of conventional AA batteries, makes easy to get out of trouble if you miss or forget to charge your batteries. Articulated display is a great feature, and level indicator great. All buttons around it's back makes easy to make adjustments and many modes on mode dial helps to feel like you have several cameras at your hand. Automatic and scene modes are very easy to use and make it's work as has to. But free modes are no easy to use if you don't know how to use them, there's a lot of variants to take control of, if you want to feel more than a beginner you'll be happy with all you can do. I'm used to motorized zoom and have to get used to manual mode, but it's better if you are not lazy or like a faster response when you want to step back or forward to get that good shot. Hot shoe and viewfinder are cool high end features, love the automated switch from screen to viewfinder to save battery or avoid light in some kind of shots. There's a lot more to say but I'm just learning to use it, but can say that this is a nice piece of camera better equipped than many megazoom more expensive ones. I thought about buying a DSLR but due to budget and the kind of use I'll give to it i got more than i expected, it's a real option to step out of high end compact camera and get into DSLR beginner level.Read full review

I have had a Fuji before. The color is good. With my first try, it didn't quite have the clarity I was hoping for. It wasn't bad but being an artist I needed to photograph my large paintings. Will try it with a tripod.

The Fujifilm HS20exr is a great camera. Has the same features as a high end DSLR without the big price tag. Camera uses standard AA battery.

I purchased a used one seller said it was working correctly. But it didn't. This camera in particular has a serious issue you can google about. Camera freezes and simply stops working. I have searched all over the internet for a fix and there is not one. Some people suggest to reinstall the camera firmware but is somehow risky and complicated. So bad the camera has nice features. I can say is just a matter of luck to get a nice working one or get a defective one which I got. I planned to return it to seller, but I am keeping it for just one reason: The video it takes is wonderful. But once it finish recording I got to take off batteries and put on again so it gets back to work again.
Good: Not heavy, many features, take AA size batteries & easy to use. Bad: Noise, slow saving pictures, covers, slow focus in low light, no mic input jack, need special remote timer shutter.
