This is a well made, now vintage, camera with an excellent lens system, simple to use, and all the features you need for an ever-ready medium format film user. No messing around with interchangeable lenses,or expensive batteries and is heavy enough to hold steady at slow shutter speeds. (also a bonus of the wide angle lens) Metering system is easy to read in the viewfinder. The 6x4.5 negatives make great enlargements. My only concern is the potential fragility of the outer lens mount, hence the 'crash bar', so if you keep your camera's in a heap in big bag then this may not be for you.
This camera is great. I have owned mine for 4 years. The lens produces images which are crystal clear. If you have ever seen the quality and crispness of a Zeiss lens, well this Fuji camera equals that type of quality. Its strikingly crisp. The next best thing about this camera is its weight. Its super light weight. Plus its medium format 6x4.5cm. Who wants to shoot 35mm when you can have the quality of medium format ? This camera fills a niche. Quality Medium Format that is light weight, has stellar images, that doesnt cost a fortune and the build quality is superb. The built in lightmrter is easy to use and takes a button battery "357". The only thing I would recommend for this camera is a lens hood and the leather camera cover. I also use a camera sling when im out shooting with it. Also, because the Rangefinder does not work thru the lens (like all rangefinders) you will often forget to remove the lens cover lololol. Here is an image taken with mine. Hurry up and buy this camera before I do. Look at my Albums on Flickr under "KB2QQM", GS645S & Rangefinder.Read full review

Here you will find a table of the Fuji 6x4.5 ( 56mm x 41.5mm, actually ) cameras produced over the years. I have listed "low" and "high" prices to give you a sense of what these cameras sell for in EXCELLENT, CLEAN CONDITION. If you are patient, you will find many of these models at the low end of the price range on ebay.com. General thoughts on the early, mechanical Fuji's ( the "GS" models ) are that they have superb optics with very high contrast, so-so RF/VF, plastic-like bodies, and the durabilty of the GS645 75/3.4 model is a well known problem. The later models, (the "GA's" ) also get very high marks for their optics, have a more ergonomic design, more automated features, data impriting on film edges, and other fine features - however, many feel the AutoFocus accuracy is not in the league of 35mm AF Cameras. All Fuji 6x4.5 models accept 120 and 220 roll film.Read full review
I develop and print B&W. I own several film cameras in various formats. For me this camera is for backpacking and mountaineering photography. It is relatively light, compact, and manual. The lens is very good and the camera is simple to use. It would be better if there was a bulb that could be cable activated. The meter on mine is right on for an average meter. The shutter is loud but fine for landscapes. The rangefinder is fine outdoors but indoors it is more challenging. Overall the camera is perfect for my needs.
This is a very portable medium format rangefinder film camera. The lens is super sharp and the viewfinder is bright enough. The orientation of the frame is default portrait (as opposed to landscape in all other) because the film runs from left to right and the frame size is 6X4.5. The batteries (2X1.5V LR44) are ONLY for powering the in-built light meter - this camera is fully operational without batteries!
